Sebastian’s

Was snagging a coveted table at one of Bonaire’s most popular restaurants totally worth it? Yes—and no. Our dinner at Sebastian’s left us with mixed feelings.First, the ambience: it’s incredible. We scored a table right on their pier, and while the sun had already set, we could easily imagine that a reservation during sunset would be nothing short of magical. After dark, however, the dock becomes pitch black, and even the servers had to use flashlights on their phones to navigate. It made for a unique and intimate atmosphere, but it also added to the already slow service.Speaking of service, despite our 8:30 PM reservation, we weren’t seated until well after 9 PM. Menus didn’t arrive until 9:30 PM, and drinks took over an hour. The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy, so the wait was frustrating. On to the food: we tried several dishes with mixed results. The Steamed Mussels and Garlic Bread were flavorful but overpriced for the small portions. The Pesto Gnocchi with Shrimp was delicious but not very filling. The Truffle Fettuccine and Lobster Pappardelle offered larger portions but lacked the bold flavors we were hoping for. Surprisingly, the highlight was the Chicken Tikka Marsala—an unexpected Indian dish that outshone everything else with its rich flavors and satisfying portion.Overall, Sebastian’s offers good food in a stunning setting, but the experience is marred by glacial service and high prices. If you can time your reservation for sunset and don’t mind the wait, it’s worth a visit—but come with patience and managed expectations.

Beautiful place with amazing view. Food was good, we had the lobster papardelle and red snapper. Secretly wished the portion was bigger cos the pasta was really good but it was enough to fill my tummy 😂. For dessert, we tried both creme brulee and choc mousse. We recently enjoyed the Italian night at Sebastians.Booked early and secured a table on the pier which I would recommend to appreciate the fabulous sunset.Yes the restaurant is busy and the service can be a little slow but it does mean that you are not hurried to finish your meals and move on. The food was good, didnt try a 'non Italian night' so cannot comment on the choice, the main meals were tasty but more fish/meat per portion would have improved it massively.

Beautiful spot and crystal clear water, but service was horrible. We requested a menu and it took 15 mins and a white guest to get the attention of the wait staff. When she finally came it took another 10 minutes for the menu to arrive. I may be back to Bonaire, but this place will not be on my list

We came here twice, once for Italian night and once for the seafood. This place gets very busy, and the staff is not 100% up to the task, so only 4 stars for service, and if you get seated at the back, you can sorta see the water, but not really so 4 stars for atmosphere. On the other hand, if you come on a night when its less busy, you can sit on the dock and its just magnificent, and so is the staff. The food gets 5 stars for Italian night — superb pizza and pasta. 4 start for the regular nights — its very good but not excellent. For a tastier meal, try Joe’s around the corner.

We went to this restaurant twice. First time was for Italian night on Sunday. Our appetisers came quickly, and they were tasty, the octopus was amazing. Then we waited over 2 hours for a main dish. Our waitress didn’t check on us for 1,5 hour. When she did she said our meal will out in maximum 5 minutes. Thirty minutes later we found another waitress who said they did not start preparing our meal yet… The meal was ok but the spicy fish pasta wasn’t spicy at all, and the fish was dry.We thought our were waiting time was over two hours because it was famous Italian night and the restaurant was full.We decided to give them another try the next day. And we booked a table on a pier, and it was nice to seat on a pier and watched the sunset. The food was not impressive and the service was still very slow.We will probably never go back.

Nestled on the serene beachfront, with the gentle lapping of waves providing a tranquil backdrop, lies an exceptional culinary gem that has captured the hearts of food enthusiasts. The restaurant, renowned for its **delicious food**, offers a menu that is a testament to the chef's passion for creating dishes that are both innovative and comforting. Each bite promises an explosion of flavors, meticulously crafted to delight the palate. The ambiance of the restaurant is matched only by the **attentiveness of its staff**. From the moment you step in, you are greeted with warm smiles and an eagerness to ensure your dining experience is nothing short of outstanding. The staff's attention to detail and their intuitive service elevate the meal to a memorable event.Whether you're basking in the golden glow of the sunset or enjoying the starlit sky, the restaurant's beachfront location offers a view that is as spectacular as the food. It's a place where every meal feels like a special occasion, and the combination of exquisite cuisine, impeccable service, and breathtaking surroundings leaves an indelible mark on all who visit. In summary, this beachfront restaurant is not just a place to eat; it's a destination where every sense is indulged, and every visit feels like an escape to paradise. It's no wonder that those who dine here leave with plans to return, already anticipating their next exceptional experience.

Best restaurant in Bonaire in terms of ambience, views, fine dining, food, and service. Will visit here each time I’m in Bonaire! It felt like not just a dinner but an experience- soulful, beautiful, romantic, uplifting. I stumbled upon this restaurant while searching on google maps for good Italian restaurants, and visited here that very evening- last day of my stay in Bonaire, and my first thought was, why did I not I find this earlier!! Ahh how I loved it! ( It prompted me to write a review first time in my life). The menu is not just Italian, but rather diverse with a little everything for all fine food appreciators. You’ll miss some real good experience in Bonaire if you miss this one!I made a reservation for 5 people for first week of February again since I’m coming back again!!

Sunset ocean views on the pier accompany high-end dining for a fantastic dinner experience. Wonderful service makes it feel even more special as you splurge on dishes like the lobster pappardelle, steamed mussels (well paired with the truffle fries) or seafood trio. Make a reservation and enjoy a nice dinner out.

Such a gorgeous place! A must visit on Bonaire for the lovely sunset view. Very romantic as well.We went for a bottle of the house wine, which is actually from a Burgundian small producer and absolutely loved their Sauvignon Blanc! So neat that they have their own label and collab with this producer. I wasn't expecting this on an island in the Carribean! Our dishes were nicely paced, to allow us to have some time to chat between us. The local fish trio was such a star! Every piece of fish was cooked perfectly with different purees.Service was wonderful too. Made us feel very welcome and special!Docked one star because our mussels and the octopus were too heavy on the salt.

Really good place to eat. So far the best dining place we have found on the island. Great views, great food, and really good service. I really enjoyed the 3 local fish dish. Wife had the grilled octopus and loved it. The black mussel appetizer was the best I’ve ever had!

Beautiful place with a beautiful view. We made a reservation for 6:00 p.m. so we were there just in time to see the sunset over the islands. Our server, Juul, was amazing and the food was top notch. If you're visiting American, and this is one of your first European / Caribbean/mediterranean experiences, you might not be prepared for the longer course of the meal. Americans are the only ones that rush through a meal. Plan to spend two and a half to 3 hours from the time of you arrive to the time you leave. The courses are not rushed, and they expect you to enjoy yourself and the experience as well as the food.I would highly suggest a reservation, at least one day before. We plan to try some other fine dining, but I would definitely put this on a list of places to return to!

Wonderful atmosphere, great food and good service. Overall a fantastic experience. The restaurant is easy to find and the parking was close by. The staff while very friendly were not super experienced or informed about everything on the menu. Also be mindful that if you ask for lemon ? they may think you are speaking Dutch and saying "limoen", which means lime. The steps down to the dock are dark and a foot long section broke off as we walked over it. Nobody fell but it shouldn't have happened. Despite this we had a very nice evening. All our meals were excellent. I strongly recommend Sebastian's. Go at sunset, you will love it.

We got a table on the pier which couldn't be more perfect. I ordered the 3-course Bonaire culinaire menu with matching wines. The food was fabulous and the wine pairing surprising but perfect. The service however...... It must be really hard to get personnel when your server is a college kid with zero hospitality experience. It was mildly entertaining but I almost applied for a job to help them out.

If you are looking for dinner with a sea side atmosphere on the island of Bonaire, this is the place to go. The open air restaurant and pier seating is amazing. No matter where you sit you will get a great view of the water, sunset, and boats around the area. It is advised to make reservations. This is a very popular place for both visitors and locals. We wanted a nice dinner to celebrate the time we had spent on our vacation. We were seated on the outer deck. The tables were dressed in crisp linen table cloths which made the area stand out against the sea. Many people whom have come here before would complain that service is slow. BUT, to that I say, why be in such a hurry? The wait staff is working hard, and we could tell, dedicated. The night we came they were trying to secure balloons that were for a party arriving later in the evening. This in itself was no easy task. The staff was trying their best to make sure that the balloons stayed put. One staff member, who we believe was off shift, stayed to make sure that the balloons didn't blow off. Our reservation was at 7, that party wasn't coming to 8:30. He stayed vigilant for the whole time. In the states I don't think many would put in that much effort or time to do such a task. Our server was attentive. She would come and check on us several times. We ordered a bottle of wine to enjoy. The food choices were amazing. Everything was fresh and made to order. This was a great choice to end our week long stay on the island. We will come back again on our next trip.

We enjoyed this place twice during our trip. We went during the day to enjoy the water and dining. The food is fresh and location couldn’t be better. We had an amazing dinner our last night on the island! They were able to accommodate our large group and the service was great. The homemade snicker bar was the highlight of the night! But everyone loved their food and the table at the end of the pier was great for sunsets!

Had higher expectations. Nice setting by the water and attentive. service. The curried bisque was watery and flavorless. Tuna trio just acceptable. The calamari portion size was about 2 tablespoons. The snickers bar tasted good but almost impossible to cut. Wine list was fine with a diverse enough selection.

GO THERE BEFORE SUNSET.That way you get the most out to the restaurant. The food is good, sometimes a bit over complicated, staff is friendly and cocktails are very good.As mentioned above go to the restaurant before sunset because the view during sunset is amazing.Their Italian night is always good make sure you make your reservation on time!

Honestly disappointed in our experience. Great views, undeniably awesome and great cocktails. But other than that and the rave reviews, service was subpar for a high end restaurant. We got there at 1730 and no one else there but it took 10 minutes before anyone came with water and drink menu, then another 15 for food menu, and by the time we ordered it was 45 minutes of sitting there waiting. Meanwhile restaurant only has 4 other tables filled so I dont understand why we were waiting so long! By the time we got our entree items it had been 1.5 hours and left at 2 hours. Pacing was way off - meals came out at different times and items were forgotten. And honestly, wouldn't you want to turn a table of 4 over within 1.5 hours? Food was fine, not mind blowing. Fish needed seasoning, the bread with babaganoush needed salt as well, just... needed more flavor and oomph for that long of a wait and price tag.

I will go and say I'm sure it's one of the most beautiful restaurants in bonaire. The location is perfect, so you can eat looking at the gorgeous ocean and if you are lucky can enjoy the sunset. Food is delicious and service is very friendly. Tjey have options for kids as well. Yoi can park your car very close to the entry. Prices are higher that other restaurants but honestly the place and presentation are amazing. Truly worth it.

Do not expect fast service!!!We ordered the lobster bisque, it comes in a large bowl half filled.Three tiny little pieces of lobster in a terrible broth. Sent it back!!!The calamari appetizer thou was delicious. Our mains were the shrimp with pastaand octopus with mixed in to pasta. They were both good but lacked the main ingredients (shrimp and octopus)!!One would expect when ordering this type of meal to see large pieces of seafood, not tiny little pieces in a very small portion. The service was super slow, we waited about 20 minutes For the check!!, enough was enough, we ended up going to the cashier and finally paid for our meals minus a tip.

Food is delicious, service is great, and atmosphere is fantastic. Try pan fried calamari, the local fish trio or scallops. So good!

The service is a bit slow and we had to ask multiple times to order, however, overall it was a good time. Location is quiet and day beds are a great offer.

This was my favorite place to eat during our visit to Bonaire. Our table was on a dock overlooking the ocean, and we watched the beautiful sunset as we ate. Bite for bite, everything was perfect. I will definitely come here again on my next visit to the island.

I took my girlfriend there on our last night in Bonaire. They had two cocktails waiting for us as well as a note that I wanted for my girlfriend to receive as we sat down at the table. We had a great table right on the water, and they took some fantastic photos of us. The food was great, and the service was superb. Highly recommend it.

If you like fine dining, you would appreciate this place. It has an amazing view of the ocean which pairs nicely with a sunset dinner.Be sure to make a reservation ahead of schedule. If you do not like fine dining, I would not recommend this place as you will be left hungry and will pay alot more than what you plan for.
